The Story of Organic Young
The many ranges available from Green People have all stemmed from one mum’s concerns for her little girl, who had eczema and allergies from a very young age. A few years on with Sandra entering her teenage years it was time for Charlotte to create a new range specifically developed for young skin. 2009 sees the launch of Organic Young, aka OY!, available for everyone, young in age or young at heart, to enjoy!
The Beginning:
Back in the early ‘90s, Charlotte Vøhtz was looking for ways to help her 2-year-old daughter Sandra, whose skin was constantly itchy and inflamed. She had a background in nursing and a knowledge of herbal remedies, and she was determined to take steps to help relieve her daughter’s skin problems.
She said, “With more than 11 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to take action.”
It was this decision that lead to the first steps towards the formation of Green People – the company behind Organic Young.
The First Green People Product
With the help of a leading international herbalist, Charlotte created the Hawthorn & Artichoke formula to help purify Sandra’s body internally. She supplemented her daughter’s diet with Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids and removed all traces of chemical-based products in her home. Sandra’s allergies soon cleared up.
Charlotte comments: “From that moment, I realised that we are all children of the chemical age and that man-made chemicals found everywhere, combined with changing dietary habits, profoundly affect us all.”
Charlotte had trouble in her quest to find chemical-free health and beauty products for her daughter. She found very few products which met with Sandra’s needs, which gave her the inspiration to create her own range.
There was intensive product development between December 1995 and April 1997, until finally her organic range was ready to be unveiled. The Green People Company Ltd. launched its first natural health and beauty products into UK health stores in August 1997.
Charlotte has continued to develop new products and ranges ever since, including the Organic Young Range which you see on this website. As well as a general organic skin care selection, there are also a number of other specialist ranges. This includes a spa collection, products for men, products for babies & children and a no scent range for those with especially sensitive skin; there is something for everyone. Green People now has more than 150 products in its extensive organic beauty collection.

We also support charities with related environmental concerns and each year 10% of our net profit is donated to charitable causes linked to 'green' or environmental issues.
