OY Ingredients

At Green People, we are very strict about what goes into our Organic Young products. This is because we understand the impact which some commonly used ingredients can have on sensitive skin and how organic, chemical-free products offer a highly effective natural alternative.


Ingredients we DO use:

We mostly use plant extracts, essential oils, infusions and other plant-derived ingredients in our products. Each has a different part to play; some are active ingredients whilst others are foaming agents or PH regulators.

Ingredients we DON’T use

We have a long list of ingredients which we feel should not be used in skin care products and which will never appear in any Organic Young products.

At the top of that list is Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), a commonly-used foaming agent which you will find in most big brand shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps and even toothpastes. Unfortunately it can also be a skin irritant and can lead to dryness and itchiness in some people. We feel that SLS is best avoided, especially for young skin.

Here's a quick list of some of the "no no" ingredients for us:

Sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, Parabens, Lanolin, Propylene glycol, synthetic fragrances, colourants, petrochemicals, Ethyl alcohol, PABA-sunscreen, Urea, PEGs, DEA, TEA, irritating emulsifiers or harsh foaming agents.

Organic Young: Value for money

Many mainstream cosmetic brands contain a large proportion of non-active ingredients in the form of water (often 70% or more) and synthetic ingredients used to create improved textures, skin feel, fragrance and preservation as cheaply as possible.

Our natural products for young skin contain over 90% active organic ingredients – compared to ‘high street’ products which normally have an active ingredient level (non-organic) of below 6%.

As you can see from the diagram above, Organic Young’s products offer excellent value for money. They are effective and concentrated so only a small amount is needed.
