Oy! gets pictured with the Junky models and eco guests - 24 August 2009
Junky Styling Book Launch sponsored by Green People and Organic Young
Inspired by seeing the recycling of clothes and
fabric taking off in cities such as San Francisco and Tokyo when traveling as
'skint teenagers', Annika Sanders and Kerry Seager bought armfuls of men's
suits from second-hand shops and transformed them into unique pinstripe and
tweed creations to wear on nights out.
After
years of growing popularity Annika and Kerry launched Junky Styling in 1997,
deconstructing second hand clothing and re-working them into new, unique
garments.
To continue with their succes the Junky duo have launched their first book; Junky Styling, - Wardrobe Surgery. Perfect for anyone with an interest in ecological and recyclable fashion, this book will inspire everyone to look at their unwanted clothes with a resourceful and creative frame of mind.
Green
People were invited along to the launch event and Oy! tagged along too.
Arriving at the
Future Gallery, London
Junky Styling chose to hold their event at The Future
Gallery, a funky venue in the heart of the West End. The vast white space was the
perfect back drop for the colourful Junky creations.
Everyone loved the Organic Young! Cleanse and Moisturise
so much they all jumped at the chance to be photographed with this fab Oy!
product!
All the way from Finland!
We caught up with some guests to hear about how much they
love Junky Styling! One young boy came all the way from Finland to attend the event, a true Junky
addict! He saw the Oy! Cleanse & Moisturise and jumped at the chance to get
a shot with this very popular product. Keep an eye on the Green People blog the photos will be coming soon.
Caught in the act
We went to give our congratulations to the Junky girls on
their new book and out in the corridor we caught Annika Sanders, one half of
the Junky duo, getting lathered up with Green People’s Sun Lotion. “I just love
Green People’s products” she said whilst rubbing in the sun lotion.
The Model Pose!
Oy! Cleanse &
Moisturise takes centre stage
Oy! caught up with one of the Junky Models in between
appearances. She loved the products and as it was 3 in 1 thought it was perfect
for busy models on the go! She posed in a stricking outfit made from a
selection of shirts that had been ruffled and rouched into a two piece
creation… true Junky creativity!

Junky
Models are the first to know that looking after your skin
when out in the sun is key to keeping the signs of ageing at bay. Green People’s SPF15 protects you from not
only the UVB rays that burn the skin but also the UVA rays that can cause long
term damage.
Oy! to Mia
Others designers from the Eco fashion world were there to
show their support for Junky, one of those stylish attendees was Mia. She makes
her gorgeous pieces in Malawi out of second hand silk shirts.
She is a huge fan of Green People and regularly uses the Organic
Young range! She uses the Oy! Gradual Tan to keep her skin sun-kissed in
between trips to Malawi! “Thank you for your products, I love them. My skin is
feeling fab and I can definitely feel the benefits.”
All Good Things must
come to an end!
A wonderful evening was had by all and the lucky guests
got to go away with a goody bag from Green People containing a lovely Sun Lotion to
enjoy using over the summer months.
